Vic and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful
hospitality you offered at WorldFest Houston 2014. The films were
fantastically diverse as were the attendees. Everything was topnotch and there
was never a dull moment. What a great place to screen our premiere! We are
so honored to have EVERYTHING IS FOREVER awarded by such a festival.
The gala was fabulous, and the entertainment riveting. Or as Hunter might say,
It’ll be a long time that me, Vic, and Nenad will be talking about
WorldFest and the fun we had.
Congratulations to all involved!

Dear WorldFest Team:
Hope you are getting to relax…now and enjoying this break and have a wonderful Easter!
I had a distributor out of NY contact me and saw our trailer in World Fest and
wants the screener now. Thank you again for the opportunity to screen Last
Curtain Call there. We finally just got a release date for Finding Hope Now
that we won Platinum there a couple years ago. It comes out August 19.
Oh one more thing.. is there a website to view the photos from the Awards
Gala? Thanks and take care 🙂
Jennifer Tadlock LAST CURTAIN CALL
I just wanted to say thank you for hosting a stellar film festival!
Mahogany Sunrise’s cast and crew are very thankful for the wonderful
reception our film had at WorldFest. We hope to build off the momentum of
winning a REMI from your prestigious festival to screen at other film
festivals. It was a well organized, fun event and I personally enjoyed
meeting with other filmmakers from around the the world as far away as
Eritrea. I look forward to sending in my future projects to your festival.
All the best,
Just wanted to say thanks so much for having us. It was a wonderful time
and I met some wonderful creative, passionate people.
Im sure that putting on a festival comes with its own set of problems and
logistical nightmares. But I can honestly say we experienced nothing but
warmness and support from everyone. It was a wonderful time and of course
very humbled to have collected an award.
Thanks so much for having us. It was a blast and I look forward to hearing
more things from your wonderful city.
Please pass my regards and thanks to your wonderful support staff.
Ps. Ill contact fikmink magazine to arrange this interview as soon as I
arrive back in oz.
Dear Mr. Todd,
I wanted to send a quick note to thank you again for organizing a beautiful
festival. I’m honored that “Circles” was a part of it, and was thrilled to
hear from you during the Awards Gala that it was “extremely well received
by the audience”! (I’m adding Worldfest’s honors to my film’s website and
press kit this week–would you mind if I included your quote?)
Thank you again for recognizing my film with a Gold Remi Award. I’m looking
forward to showing more of my work in the future at Worldfest, and
continuing to meet talented and passionate filmmakers.
Dear Hunter Todd & Kathleen Haney,
Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality during WorldFest Houston 2014! This was my first film festival and you made me feel welcome from the day I arrived. Everything about the festival was simply incredible to me. I was able to meet so many interesting people from around the world and they were all so nice! You really have a talent for putting together a wonderful group of people and films and I can’t thank you enough for an experience I will treasure forever. The Gala Awards was so well executed and better than anything I could have imagined. Cheers to a job well done!
I can’t wait to get back to work on another film in hopes of returning to WorldFest! My goal is a Grand Remi someday. I will always remember filmmaking is about a good story, well told. So simple and meaningful!!
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart to you and your amazing team! You are the best!
Dear Hunter Todd,
thank you very much for this wonderful festival and the awards gala and the day after. I enjoyed your awesome hospitality. Ill never forget this great event.
So, thank you very much again.
Best regards from Berlin,
I can’t thank you enough for the amazing event known as Worldfest. You and your team are so well organized, so professional and so caring, it was overwhelming. I’m so grateful and honored to have been included in the festival and will always remember how special it is. Please send my respect and admiration to Elease, she’s an absolute gem. Hopefully, you are all getting a well deserved rest.
All the Best,

I wanted to thank you for being so gracious in hosting everyone at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. You really have created a fab venue for film here in Texas ! Loved how you personally navigated the buses to the Houston Yacht Club so that they would not get lost, and took some of us out on your yacht before the weather got bad. The BBQ was delicious, and so was the music.
I was not sure if I would win, and am deeply humbled that I won a Gold Remi for my screenplay “Corrupt” as a feature film. Just to be nominated is such an honor. I connected with fabulous people in film and made some dear, life long friendships down under! The Aussies are amazing individuals.
Screenwriting is my passion, and will keep on writing from the heart !!
All the best to you, Kim Henderson
I just wanted to say thank you so much for a wonderful festival with an
absolutely terrific amount of films from around the world. I attended
multiple days as a viewer and had a blast.
And again, I can’t thank you enough for getting us a screening and allowing
our local family and friends to see our film, *Critical Mass*. It was such
an honor to receive multiple awards from this great festival, and the
Awards Ceremony was fantastic!
So from everyone at One Riot One Ranger, and the film Critical Mass, thanks
again, and we’ll see you next year!

Hi Kathleen, Hunter:
Thank you! So much for letting us begin the journey of African Gothic
In Houston. We had a blast.
Next time I’ll hire a publicist to fill the house as my friends didn’t deliver, but considering everything we had a good turn out.
Thrilled to have taken home two great awards!
I hope you received the Thank you gift I had Chella deliver. Just a small token of our appreciation.
I’m sure you must be exhausted and looking forward to some rest.
If you think of any other festivals that may be receptive to our film please let us know, referrals are always best.

thank you for your e-mail and thank you so much for checking on the photos… It would be really nice to get some professional pictures from the Gala.
I am happy telling you and Hunter today that Edgar Selge – our main cast who plays Otto Weidt – is going to get the “Best Actor-Award” at the Seoul International Drama Award 2014 for his play in “A Blind Hero – The Love Of Otto Weidt”!!!
So, another award for our film… But you have been pathbreaking and visionary by nominating and awarding our film at the Houston Film Fest in April 2014.
Edgar and I well fly to Seoul on September 2nd. to receive the Award.
All the best to you, Hunter and your lovely daughter,
Hi Kathleen, Hunter and all the Crew at Worldfest,
Good afternoon from sunny England, hope you are all keeping well. I am just dropping you a quick email to thank you so much for the award for Search and Destroy and for the gifts that you sent to me through the post. I have hung up all the posters and the award in pride of place on my wall, I was delighted to receive them.
I have just got back from Sri Lanka which was an amazing trip and has given me inspiration to make another two short films called ‘Locked’ and ‘Miracle’ which I will be sending your way when finished so be prepared!
I have just directed my first music video in the Uk for a charity that helps raise money for Help For Heroes and I will be acting again in a film next month and in September I will be starting at CAPA which is the Cathedral Academy of Performing Arts.
As you probably know I live in the Yorkshire Dales and I have just started up a new community Theatre Group, getting all ages involved, it certainly keeps me busy but I love it. We will be performing The Witch That Nicked Christmas in December.
With my very best wishes to you all and thanks once again.

We had stayed and watched that night. The audience gave a standing ovation
after the showing. The film was well received that night. We were all moved
by it. Lily and I enjoy working with you and Hunter very much. We
especially treasure the cruise in your yacht that day at the regatta. Thank
you so much. I will come to pick up the award for Director Chi in the next
few days. I will call to let you know first, perhaps we can get together
for dim sun at the Fung’s afterward.
I just want to take moment to congratulate you on yet another great World Fest ! I am so sorry for not being able to attend award gala (With Captain America and Rio 2 playing I could not escape my daily job)
I did how ever saw few shorts and they were stunning!

Dear committee of World-fest Houston, dear Hunter and Kathleen
I am really thankful to you for everything that you have done for my film. This prize is now my pride and joy and I am sure it will impress our media and people in charge for cultural ministry here and helps my film to have this chance of being watched here in Iran. I really can not express my feelings and the depth of my gratefulness towards you.
Please know that it meant a lot to me

Kathleen, I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to screen NightLights at WorldFest!! Being in Houston was a great experience, and the film was very well received. We were also honored to receive the award, and my producer Don Albert will be in Houston this weekend for the gala and the final weekend of festivities.
Am I correct that there are additional awards that will be given out at the gala? And the gala is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, correct?
Thank you again, I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to stay for the remainder of the festival, and I’m looking forward to hearing from Don about how the gala and final weekend go!

Dear WorldFest staff and viewers,
In my country, Iran; the government has done its best to control cinema.
They have tried to prevent independent activities. In fact, the government,
to censor and constraint independent film makers, has put more and more
limitations for them to work. Iran helps filmmakers that follow the
government’s agenda by preparing comfortable facilities, assisting with
bank loans and more. This has created a monopoly for filmmakers who focus
on specific themes about the war between Iran and Iraq, Islam and
My films are getting created by personal funds; either my own budget or
through donations from friends. “THIS FILM MUST NOT BE WATCHED” is based on
an idea I have had for five years; but the lack of financial support meant
it was not able to be made until last year. It is the first “hand-held”
movie in the history of Iranian cinema. Unlike other hand-held movies in
the world like “Paranormal Activity” or “The Blair Witch Project”, this
film is not a horror movie but a social melodrama.
Today I really wanted to be among you, enjoying your friendly company; but
unfortunately too many problems and obstacles made it impossible for me to
Today in a country like Iran where independent cinema means almost nothing;
the presence of ” THIS FILM MUST NOT BE WATCHED” in WorldFest-Houston is
all over the news which gives hope for it to be screened or distributed in
Iran. I am so grateful to you WorldFest. Myself and my crew thank you for
all you have done and for watching “THIS FILM MUST NOT BE WATCHED”

Just a short note, to let you know that my psychological thriller “Walking Wounded” has been optioned. “Walking Wounded” took a Silver Remi last year, in the Thriller/Horror category. It was also a ‘second rounder’ – in the top ten percent at the Austin Film festival.
The script was optioned by two producers in Los Angeles.
